IRANDOC (Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology) published the first
Persian Thesaurus of Agricultural Science in two volumes.
The
translation of this work was decided by the commission of national scientific researches in 1997 and the project has started since then.
The first Persian agricultural
thesaurus is accompanied with an index of local Persian terms used in Iran.
The English ‘Thesaurus of Agricultural Sciences’ has been translated into Persian by Esmail Akbari, Farkhondeh Asghari, Nasrin Akhundi, Moluk al-Sadat Beheshti, and Mehrdad Norouzi Eghbali. Because of the comprehensiveness and the vast coverage of scientific terms, this thesaurus has so far been translated into different languages of French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Arabic.
