The process of working with a website goes through several stages:
Content translation - translation of the main text that the site visitor sees. When localizing a site, it is necessary to take into account a number of important aspects:
- Formats for representing numbers, dates, time and currency.
- Symbols, signs and colors and content elements that may be misunderstood in a certain cultural environment.
- Legal requirements.
In addition to translating the texts themselves, it is necessary to localize all interface elements, including graphics and dynamic objects: buttons, menus, animations, as well as code that is invisible to the user - headings and meta tags. It is important that all these changes preserve a single corporate style of visual design and content structure.
Localization includes translation of invisible modules, as well as text that may appear during user interaction with the site (for example, error messages, tooltips).
Optimization for the target audience consists of analyzing keywords on the site`s topic and selecting a suitable translation. This is not always a contextual or literal translation. The content is adjusted in accordance with these words and edited for better indexing by search engines.
A site redesign may include a complete or partial change of design. At the customer`s request, specialists can prepare a new layout, preserving the basic structure and functionality of the site. Most often, the layout has to be changed for translating sites into Arabic, Hebrew, and in some cases, Chinese and Korean. Hieroglyphs take up less space in a line, but should have more space vertically. The Arabic site should be re-designed in mirror image to the Russian-language source.
Site assembly includes inserting the translated text into pages and content management systems (CMS). You can read more about this stage in our publications tagged content export and content import.
Testing and proofreading of the site by a native speaker. After translation, the functionality of the updated version of the site is checked.
Site support. An important stage when regular translation of new materials is offered, as well as services for promoting the site for selected search words.
