The profession of a translator in Russian universities is still considered prestigious, and education costs accordingly. In developed countries, translators and linguists working in prestigious translation companies that localize and translate all kinds of books, software, and various kinds of products that surround us, in fact, everywhere, in turn, cooperate with freelancers and agencies from Russia. It is they who provide translation in the direction of the Russian language, because for a company, when loading into more than 20 foreign languages, it would hardly be possible to maintain a whole staff in each of these languages. The operating systems Windows, MacOS, Android and others, which are used everywhere, were translated by such specialists working from Russia.
But at the same time, the activities of the language services industry in Russia are not included in the calculation of industries that have suffered, say, from quarantine events, etc., and, accordingly, translation agencies do not take any measures to support business, and even more so to ensure its development.
As a result, after the civilized world, where the work of translators was treated with respect, turned its back on us, now there is a downward trend: the volume of orders has decreased somewhere in two, and somewhere in four times; some manufacturers reoriented from Russia to other countries when creating products; payments from abroad - banks have stopped making payments to Russia, and PayPal does not work in Russia.
And yet there is hope that this cycle will be replaced by another, and everything will return and be restored, as it was restored with the Germans (after the Second World War), with whom partnerships and trusting relationships were built.
