A year after first launching its Google Translate for Android solution, Google updated its Translate app for Android devices with Conversation Mode. Google Translate supports capabilities like romanization of non-Roman scripts, machine translation and spoken translations as well as voice input and SMS translation. Statistical machine translation service provided by Google Inc. now boasts new dropdown boxes enabling users to more quickly select the languages you wish to translate from and into, alongside with an improved input box and cleaner icons and layout. Conversation Mode is an experimental feature that records the user's voice, translates their speech into a foreign language and reads the translated text out loud.
Google Translate now supports 53 languages, with voice input for 15 languages. The updated app is available for devices running Android 2.1 and above.
